Hi from Queens New York. We left early for our US Open vacation. Good thinking. Our original flights were cancelled.
So far we have seen some tennis and a Mets game where they won 6-0 for a change. We have also seen some wind and rain. I forgot to mention hurricane Irene passed over us early Sunday. Our area wasn’t hit too hard. The downed tree in the picture was a couple of blocks from our hotel. And that big pond Gary is standing by is actually a parking lot at the USTA tennis center.
But we are still lucky. The US Open will start Monday on time.
